答案：one of the greatest religious reformers of the 16th century. Luther was opposed to indulgences. He declared that one’s whole life should be a continuous repentance, and he advised people not to spend their money on indulgences. On October 31, 1517, he nailed to the door of the castle church of Wittenberg his Ninety-five Theses, in which he attacked both practices connected with indulgences and the theories on which indulgences were based.The Ninety-five Theses marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
